How to use the Batch Rename
- Tap the box and choose the files you want to rename. Any file type works.
- Build a name pattern with tokens like {name}, {n} and {date}, or add a prefix, suffix and find and replace.
- Check the preview table. It shows every old and new name, and fixes duplicates for you.
- Press Download renamed files to get a ZIP with the same files under their new names.
Frequently asked questions
Does renaming change or compress my files?
No. The files are copied byte for byte into the ZIP. Only the names change, so photo quality and metadata stay exactly the same.
What do the tokens mean?
{name} is the original name without the extension, {n} is a counter (padding like 001 is set in Number padding), {date} is the date the file was last changed, {today} is today, and {ext} is the original extension.
Why do I get a ZIP instead of renamed files on my device?
For your safety, browsers cannot rename files that are already on your device. GlowPress gives you renamed copies in a ZIP instead, and your originals stay untouched.
What happens if two files end up with the same name?
GlowPress adds -2, -3 and so on to keep every name unique, and marks those rows in the preview.
How many files can I rename at once?
The free plan renames 5 files at a time, and extra files wait in line. GlowPress Pro removes the limit, which is handy for whole photo shoots.
