Step by step
- Open the HEIC to JPG Converter in Safari or Chrome on your iPhone.
- Tap the box, then choose Photo Library and select the photos you want. You can pick several at once.
- Leave the format on JPG (best for sharing) or pick PNG if you need lossless files.
- Wait a moment while each photo converts on your phone. Nothing is sent to a server.
- Tap Download all (ZIP) to get a ZIP, or save each JPG one by one to Files.
HEIC vs JPG at a glance
| Feature | HEIC | JPG |
|---|---|---|
| File size | About half of a JPG at similar quality | Larger |
| Opens on Windows | Only with an extra extension | Everywhere |
| Websites and forms | Often rejected | Accepted almost everywhere |
| Live Photos, depth data | Supported | Not kept |
| Best for | Storing photos on your iPhone | Sharing, printing, uploading |
Stop shooting HEIC in the first place
If you always need JPG, change the camera setting once: open Settings, tap Camera, then Formats, and choose Most Compatible. New photos are saved as JPG. The trade off is that each photo takes roughly twice the space.
Let the iPhone convert when you transfer
Under Settings, Photos, the Transfer to Mac or PC option set to Automatic converts photos to JPG when you copy them over a cable. Sharing through Mail or many apps also converts automatically. It does not help when you upload through a website file picker, which is where a converter is handy.
Tips
Converting a whole album? Pick up to 5 photos at a time on the free plan and press Process the next batch, or go Pro for unlimited batches.
JPG quality 90 looks the same as the original to almost everyone and keeps files reasonable.
Need a smaller file for a form? Send the JPGs to the Image Compressor right after converting.
Ready to try it?
The HEIC to JPG Converter is free, needs no sign up, and your files never leave your device.
Open the HEIC to JPG ConverterFrequently asked questions
Does converting HEIC to JPG lose quality?
A tiny amount, because JPG uses different compression. At quality 90 or higher you will not see a difference on a phone or computer screen.
Is it safe to convert private photos online?
With GlowPress the conversion happens inside your browser on your own phone. The photos are never uploaded, so they stay private.
Why does my iPhone use HEIC at all?
HEIC files are about half the size of JPGs at the same quality, so you can keep far more photos on your phone and in iCloud.
Can I convert HEIC photos in bulk?
Yes. Select several photos at once. The free plan handles 5 at a time with a button for the next batch, and Pro removes the limit.
