What are broken characters?
When text is copied between apps with different settings you can get junk like ’ or question mark boxes. This option turns the common ones back into normal characters.
Will it change my words?
Only in the ways you pick. With just the default options it tidies spacing and quotes but keeps your words the same.
Is my text private?
Yes. Cleaning happens in your browser and nothing is uploaded.
Can it remove long dashes?
Yes. Tick Replace long dashes and they become commas, or hyphens in number ranges like 3-5. Great for matching a style guide.
Why do I see strange spacing after pasting from a PDF?
PDFs often break lines in the middle of sentences. Tick Join all lines into one paragraph to glue them back together.
