Is my JSON sent to a server?
No. Formatting happens in your browser, which makes it safe for API keys and private data.
What does Validate do?
It checks whether your JSON follows the rules. Common mistakes are trailing commas, single quotes and missing brackets.
Can it handle big files?
Yes, files of several megabytes work fine on most devices.
Why does my JSON with comments fail?
Standard JSON does not allow comments, trailing commas or single quotes. Remove them and the file will validate. Some tools call the relaxed version JSON5 or JSONC.
What does Sort keys do?
It puts every object key in A to Z order, at every level. That makes two versions of the same data much easier to compare.
