Frequently asked questions
Is this really random?
Yes. GlowPress uses crypto.getRandomValues, the same secure random source browsers use for encryption, and avoids the small bias that simple generators have.
Do you keep my passwords?
Never. Passwords are made on your device and disappear when you leave the page.
How long should a password be?
Aim for at least 14 to 16 characters for important accounts. Longer is stronger, and a password manager can remember it for you.
What does Avoid look-alikes do?
It skips characters that are easy to confuse, such as capital I, lowercase l and the number 1. Handy when you have to read a password out loud or type it on a TV.
Why do some sites reject symbols?
Some older websites only allow certain symbols. If a password is rejected, untick Symbols or generate a longer password with letters and numbers only.
