Frequently asked questions
What is Base64?
Base64 turns any data into plain letters and numbers so it can travel safely in emails, web pages and code.
Why do other tools break emojis?
Many tools use an old browser function that only understands basic English letters. GlowPress converts text to UTF-8 first, so every language and emoji works.
Is Base64 encryption?
No. Anyone can decode it. Never use Base64 to hide passwords or secrets.
Why is Base64 bigger than my file?
Base64 uses 4 characters for every 3 bytes, so the text is about one third larger than the original file.
Is there a size limit?
No fixed limit, but files over about 5 MB create huge blocks of text that can slow down the page, especially on phones.
