How to add a watermark to your photos

A watermark makes it clear who took a photo and discourages people from reusing it without credit. You can add your name or logo to a whole set of photos in one go, with a live preview so it looks just right.

Text or logo?

A text watermark with your name or website is quick and readable. A logo looks more professional. Use a PNG logo with a transparent background, in white or a light color, and add the soft shadow option so it shows up on both light and dark photos.

Tips

Keep your original photos. Watermarks are baked into the new copies.

For Instagram, resize first with the Batch Image Resizer, then watermark, so the mark is always the same size.

A tiled watermark at low opacity protects proofs without ruining the view.

Frequently asked questions

Can I watermark photos for free?

Yes. Batch Watermark is free with no sign up and no GlowPress watermark added. Free batches are 5 photos at a time, Pro is unlimited.

Are my photos uploaded?

No. Watermarks are drawn on your device in the browser. Your photos stay private.

Can someone remove my watermark?

A small corner mark can be cropped off. A tiled, low opacity mark across the image is much harder to remove.

What format should my logo be?

A PNG with a transparent background works best. JPG logos bring their white box with them.
